Barbara Gerland is fantastic. She helped me sell my house in South Lake Tahoe. I know real estate agents determine the sales price for the house, listing the house, negotiating offers, etc. And Barbara did all of this. But this doesn't even begin to describe how above and beyond Barbara went as agent. My house had a couple of hiccups. It was being stubborn. We had a situation where one of the window latches had come off. I asked my former contractor (who had overseen the installation of the windows many years ago) to take a look at it and see what could be done to fix it. I wasn't asking him to fix it; I just wanted to know his recommendation. The only thing he said was, "yep, it's broken." Barbara went to the window and glass store where the windows had been purchased and spoke to the owner about it. The owner sent someone out to the house to make sure it was not an installation error from them. Turns out it wasn't. Barbara coordinated all of the required inspections, hired a handyman to fix the window latch; had him paint the inside of the house and many other miscellaneous things that needed to be done to get the house ready to sell. Barbara always kept me in the loop with updates on the status of the house and explained the numerous amounts of documents I needed to sign or initial. We would talk on weekends and nights. Real Estate Agents are really on-call doctors who have to be ready to make decisions or trouble shoot problems at a moment's notice. Barbara worked her ass off. She really went above and beyond. We developed a great rapport. You really get to know a person when working so closely with them for 3 or so months. I wish I had more houses for Barbara to sell as I am already missing our many phone calls and texts each day. But I'm very happy I have gained a friend for life! Sincerely, Marianne Boudreau
